HSV has announced initial details of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ahead of its dealership arrival in March.

Having just achieved full volume certification for Australia and New Zealand, HSV will convert the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 alongside the heavy-duty Silverado trucks and the Camaro muscle car.

At launch, HSV will offer one variant: the 1500 LTZ Premium Edition, powered by a 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine producing 313kW and 624Nm. It’s hooked up to a 10-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels. Using a 70mm ball, HSV claims a 4500kg braked towing capacity.

Standard equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a 15-inch head-up display, leather trim, heated front seats with electronic adjustment and memory for the driver, a heated steering wheel, a rear-view camera, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, two USB ports and a Bose sound system.

20-inch polished alloy wheels, a powered tailgate, a spray-on bed liner and a sunroof are also included as standard.

Buyers will be able to option HSV tuned suspension and a performance exhaust system.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed, however, it’s expected HSV will take aim at the popular Ram 1500 Laramie.
