HSV has finally confirmed specs and pricing for the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pick-up truck.

 

The full-size American ute will launch in LTZ Premium Edition trim priced from $113,990 plus-on-road costs.

 

For context, the equivalent model from rival Ram, the 1500 V8 Laramie, starts at $99,950 plus on-roads. It should be noted, the Ram is a generation older and misses out on the latest safety tech.

 

Powering the Silverado 1500 is a 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine producing 313kW and 624Nm. It’s hooked up to a 10-speed automatic that sends power to all four wheels. Using a 70mm ball, HSV claims a 4500kg braked towing capacity.

 

Dimensionally, the Silverado 1500 is 5885mm long, 2063mm wide, 1915mm high, with a 3745mm wheelbase. In other words, she’s big!

 

According to HSV, the all-new frame is 40kg lighter than its predecessor but has 10 per cent greater torsional rigidity. As much as 80 per cent of the frame is made of high-strength steel varying from 2mm to 5mm in thickness.

 

Standard equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a 15-inch head-up display, leather trim, heated front seats with electronic adjustment and memory for the driver, a heated steering wheel, a rear-view camera, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, four USB ports and a Bose sound system.

 

20-inch polished alloy wheels, a powered tailgate, a spray-on bed liner and a sunroof are also included as standard.

Keen buyers will need to pay an additional $1250 for metallic paint, only Summit White avoids the premium. HSV tuned suspension and a performance exhaust system will also be on the options list.

 

The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium Edition officially goes on sale at HSV dealerships on April 20.
