Local specs and pricing have announced for the updated 2020 Jaguar F-Type coupe and convertible which is available to order now priced from $126,400 plus on-road costs.
The new model year is distinguished by a new front bumper, a larger grille, redesigned slimline LED headlights and a clamshell bonnet.
At the back, there are new tail-lights which adopt the slimmer ‘chicane’ design that was first seen on the I-Pace. The number plate recess and the rear diffuser have also been tweaked.
On the inside, all variants score a fully-configurable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, while the Touch Pro infotainment system gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
Australian buyers still get a choice of three engines, all of which are matched to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The range opens with a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 221kW and 400Nm.
Those who want more power can move to the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 which delivers 280kW and 460Nm. In the 2.0-litre and the V6, the eight-speed drives the rear wheels.
Flagship R variants get a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 developing 423kW and 700Nm, representing an additional 18kW and 20Nm over the outgoing model. The R is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive.
Along with the power upgrade, R models also feature new adaptive dampers, springs, anti-roll bars and stiffer rear knuckles and ball joints. Jaguar says the changes deliver “greater agility and responsiveness.” There are also new-look 20-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Jaguar will also offer a First Edition coupe based on the V6 R-Dynamic variant which gets 20-inch wheels, 12-way electronic-adjustable seats trimmed in Windsor Performance leather, an Alcantara wrapped instrument cluster, an ebony suedecloth headliner, and an Engine Spin centre console finisher with First Edition branding.
