Mitsubishi Australia has announced specs and pricing for the reborn Express van range with prices starting from $38,490 plus on-road costs.
Manufactured in France by Alliance partner Renault, the Express returns to the segment after a seven-year absence.
The Express will be available in GLX trim with short and long-wheelbase options. The smaller variant measures 4999mm long, 1971mm high, and 1956mm wide.
Long-wheelbase variants are identical in height and width but stretch to 5399mm long.
The volume of the load area in the short wheelbase version is 5.2m3, while the longer model offers 6.0m3.

Buyers will have the choice of two diesel engines: a 103kW/340Nm 1.6-litre twin-turbo unit or a single turbo 125kW/380Nm 2.0-litre engine. Both options are fitted with a 25 litre AdBlue tank.
The 1.6L engine is only available with a six-speed manual gearbox while a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (6DCT) is reserved for 2.0-litre models.
All Express variants are front-wheel drive with Extended Grip - a traction control mode activated by the driver to assist in low grip conditions.
Standard equipment includes glazed rear barn doors with 90 and 180 degree stops, a rear bumper has an integrated step, 16-inch steel wheels with a full-size spare, height and reach steering wheel adjustment, driver lumbar support, Bluetooth, USB connection and an integrated smartphone cradle.
Moving to safety, cruise control with speed limiter, hill start assist, rear park assist, a driver blind spot mirror in the passenger sun visor and five airbags are standard.
Disappointingly, autonomous emergency braking is not available.
The 2.0L automatic models also get a rear-view camera in the interior mirror, dusk-sensing headlights and rain-sensing wipers.
The new Express officially goes on sale from July 6.
