Details of the updated 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV have been revealed with a new 2.4-litre engine headlining the changes.
For 2020, Mitsubishi will continue to offer two trim levels: ES and Exceed, with prices starting from $50,990 drive-away.
The most significant change is the switch to a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine offering 94kW and 199Nm, up from the 87kW/186Nm produced by the outgoing 2.0-litre engine.
Further powertrain revisions include a larger 13.8kWh battery pack (up from 12kWh), and an uprated rear electric motor which now produces 70kW and 195Nm. The front electric motor is unchanged at 60kW/137Nm.
Mitsubishi quotes a 54km electric driving range with charging times ranging from 7 hours to 25 minutes depending on the charger type.
In terms of new equipment, ES variants get autonomous emergency braking, snow and sport driving modes, new black cloth seat trim, heated front seats with power lumbar for the driver, an 8.0-inch infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror and two USB ports in the second row.
For an additional $1000, buyers can option the ADAS pack which adds lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control and automatic high-beam.
The top-spec Exceed has been bolstered with built-in satellite navigation, a speed limit information display, and an eight-speaker sound system.
Exceed variants can also act as an EVPS auxiliary power supply to feed power back into the grid.
Both grades can be finished in Red Diamond metallic paint, which joins Starlight, Titanium and Ruby Black.
