The updated 2020 Nissan Patrol has arrived with prices now starting at $75,990 plus on-road costs.

For 2020 the Patrol gets a refreshed front and rear, a new suspension tune, more safety tech and a revised colour palette.

Disappointingly, Australia misses out on the dual-screen infotainment system and smartphone mirroring tech offered in other markets

Nissan will continue to offer the Patrol in two grades: Ti and Ti-L. Both grades feature changes to the bonnet, front bumper, front grille, LED front lamps, fender panels and 18-inch alloy wheels.

The front and rear LED lamps are significantly improved, with 52 LEDs in the front headlight – plus the LED fog lamps - and a total of 44 LEDs in the rear.

Down the back, there are new boomerang-shaped LED tail-lights and a larger chrome nameplate which Nissan says improves night time visibility.

Nissan is promising greater ride comfort thanks to a suspension retune with improved dampers which have been enhanced to provide more dampening at a higher piston speed.

Speaking of comfort, the Patrol’s air conditioning system has been updated, providing improved airflow – particularly for passengers in the back, while those seated in the front will notice improved climate control with increased airflow for faster cooling and a larger heating map built within the seat for better heating performance.

Nissan’s package of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) is standard on both variants and includes autonomous emergency braking, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, intelligent cruise control, lane departure warning and blind-spot monitoring.

Further equipment highlights include keyless entry and push-button start, tri-zone climate air conditioning, an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, sat-nav with 3D mapping, heated door mirrors and an automatic anti-dazzle rear-view mirror.

The flagship Ti-L also gets the Intelligent Rear View Monitor for a better view of traffic conditions behind the car.

Power comes from the familiar 5.6-litre V8 petrol engine developing 298kW and 560Nm, it’s matched with a seven-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels.

For those hitting the dirt, there’s an electronic rear diff lock, hill descent control, hill start assist and an off-road monitor.

Three new exterior colours are available including Moonlight White, Galaxy Gold and Hermosa Blue.
