Porsche Australia has confirmed specs and pricing for the new Macan Turbo ahead of a local arrival in October.

Priced from $142,000 (plus on-road costs) the Macan Turbo gets power from the new 2.9-litre bi-turbo V6 petrol engine which is already deployed in the new Cayenne and Panamera, in the Macan it’s tuned to produce 324kW and 550Nm. It’s a jump of 30kW when compared to the 3.6-litre engine in the outgoing model.

A seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels. Porsche claims the car can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 4.3 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package fitted. The top speed is listed at 270km/h, while fuel consumption on the combined cycle is rated at 10.0L/100km.

The Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB) is standard, the marque says the set-up with a tungsten carbide coating on the discs offers a faster response, less wear and up to 90 per cent less brake dust compared with conventional cast iron brakes.

The Macan Turbo is differentiated by a unique front apron, LED headlights including the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS), 21-inch 911 Turbo Design wheels, Sport Design side skirts and exterior mirrors finished in the body colour, a fixed roof spoiler and a sports exhaust system.

Further equipment highlights include adaptive 18-way sports seats, a BOSE surround sound system, keyless entry and start, the comfort lighting package, privacy glass, air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and automatically dimming mirrors.

The Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system is also standard and includes a 10.9-inch HD touchscreen, online navigation with real-time traffic information and voice control, an LTE telephone module, a SIM card reader, Wi-Fi hotspot, digital radio and wireless Apple CarPlay.

The new Macan Turbo is available to order now with deliveries set to commence in October 2019.
