Details of the 2020 Renault Trafic van line-up have been announced headlined by the availability of an automatic transmission.
On the design front the update Trafic now features signature Renault C-shaped LED daytime running lights, a revised front grille and automatic dusk-sensing LED headlamps.
Internally updates to the range include a dashboard with satin chrome finishes and new dark carbon seat-facings.
Safety gets a boost with front and lateral curtain airbags now standard across the range.
Kicking things off is the Trafic Pro which is available in short- and long-wheelbase configurations. It is powered by the 1.6-litre 85kW/300Nm turbo-diesel engine, matched with a six-speed manual transmission.
Updated equipment includes a rear-view camera, automatic headlights and wipers, leather-wrapped steering wheel, front fog lights, foldable key, and under-bench seat storage.
The Trafic Premium model is also available in short- and long-wheel base guise,with power coming from either the 1.6-litre oiler from the base model paired with a manual gearbox, or a new 2.0-litre 125kW/80Nm turbo-diesel engine mated with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic. It’s Renault's EDC (efficient dual-clutch) unit.
Trafic Premium models get a workstation bench, bulkhead with load-through flap, barn doors, an additional sliding door on the driver’s side, engine stop/start system, a phone cradle, security deadlocking and a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
At the tip of the range sits the new Crew Lifestyle variant which adds body painted bumpers, side door protection, chrome grille, climate control air conditioning, 17-inch alloy wheels, a heated driver’s seat, Renault Smart key card with keyless entry and engine start, and rear privacy glass.
The Trafic Pro spec can be enhanced with individual options such as a right-hand side sliding door, a steel bulkhead, a single passenger seat, barn doors in place of a tailgate, and the 7.0-inch infotainment system.
Trafic Pro and Trafic Premium buyers can add a Trade Pack which includes a smartphone cradle, key with single door opening, Wide View mirror, wooden floor, full-height wall lining, heavy-duty battery, spare wheel basket and LED ceiling lights.
The Business Pack is also available to Trafic Premium buyers which brings automatic air conditioning, tinted windows, 17-inch alloys, hands-free entry card, heated seats and colour-coded bumpers and tail-light pillars.
The updated 2020 Renault Trafic range will go on sale in December.
