Local specifications and pricing have been announced for the 2020 SsangYong Korando range which is priced from $26,990 drive-away.
Kicking off the range is the Korando EX (starting at $26,990 drive-away) which is powered by the new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine outputting 120kW/280Nm and mated with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Standard equipment on the EX includes an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic projector headlights with levelling function, rain-sensing wipers and heated auto-folding side mirrors.
Autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, front collision warning and a rear-view camera are also standard.
Stepping up to the ELX (from $30,990 drive-away) adds 18-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, a smart key, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, blind-spot monitoring, lane change assist, smart key and rear cross-traffic alert with braking intervention.
The top-of-the-line Ultimate model (priced from $36,990 drive-away) gains 19-inch alloy wheels, LED front fog lights, a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a powered sunroof and tailgate, heated front and rear leather seats, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, adaptive cruise control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
ELX and Ultimate variants are also available with a 1.6-litre 100kW/324Nm turbo-diesel engine from the Launch Edition, it’s matched with a six-speed automatic. Every model in the standard Korando range is front-wheel drive.

The 2020 Korando petrol range is making its way to dealerships now, while the diesel models will follow early next year. According to SsangYong, limited stock of ELX LE and Ultimate LE diesel variants are still available.
