Specs and pricing have been announced for the 2020 Toyota C-HR range headlined by the availability of a hybrid powertrain and an updated infotainment system.

The hybrid powertrain will only be confined to the range-topping Koba grade in front-wheel drive guise. It uses the same 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid set-up found in the Corolla and Prius. It offers a combined 90kW of power and is matched to a CVT automatic. Fuel consumption on the combined cycle is listed at 4.3L/100km.

All other C-HR variants will continue to use the 1.2-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing 85kW and 185Nm. It’s also matched to a CVT.

On the inside, all grades now feature Toyota’s latest infotainment system that incorporates an 8.0-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The entry-level C-HR (from $29,540 plus on-road costs) is equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights, heated and folding exterior mirrors, fabric seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone climate control and a 4.2-inch driver information display in the instrument cluster.

Standard safety kit includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure alert with steering assist, seven airbags, front and rear parking sensors, automatic high-beam and a rear-view camera.

Moving to the Koba models (from $33,940 plus on-roads) brings keyless entry and push-button start, leather-accented seats, heated front seats, power lumbar support for the driver, privacy glass and a panoramic view camera.
