After first being unveiled earlier this year, local specifications and pricing have been announced for the 2021 Audi Q5 range.
At launch, Audi will offer five Q5 variants: 40 TDI quattro, 45 TFSI quattro, 40 TDI quattro Sport, 45 TFSI quattro Sport and 50 TDI quattro S line.
The updated Q5 is distinguished by new alloy wheels, a redesigned Singleframe grille, new LED headlights and OLED taillights.
On the inside, buyers get the new 10.1-inch high-resolution MMI touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, wireless smartphone charging, DAB+ radio and four USB ports with two of those in the rear.
Standard equipment across the range includes keyless entry, leather upholstery, electric front seats with four-way electric lumbar, tri-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting and a frameless auto-dimming interior mirror.
The Q5 will also feature Audi connect plus which integrates online traffic updates, weather conditions, fuel prices, parking information and Google Maps. There’s also a myAudi smartphone app with remote lock/unlock, service request, and emergency call functions thanks to the embedded SIM card.
Autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with pedestrian detection, attention assist to mitigate lapsing concentration, eight airbags, side assist, active lane assist, exit warning system, rear cross-traffic assist, parking system plus with reversing camera, and tyre pressure monitoring are also included as standard.
40 TDI Sport and 45 TFSI Sport models add a panoramic sunroof, sport front seats with heating and driver memory, adaptive cruise control with stop & go, an electronic steering column with memory, collision avoidance assist, turn assist, park assist, a 360-degree camera and an upgraded Audi 10-speaker sound system.
50 TDI S line variants gain a head-up display, titanium black honeycomb grille, matte aluminium silver inserts in the front bumper, illuminated door sill trims with S lettering and a selenite silver trim on the rear diffuser.
A limited number of Launch Editions based on the 40 TDI and 45 TFSI will also be offered and include metallic paint, carbon and black exterior highlights, privacy glass, leather seat upholstery in black or rock grey with contrast stitching, floor mats with contrast stitching, illuminated front door sill trims and a colour ambient lighting package.
Three powertrains will be available across the five modes. At the entry-level, the 40 TDI model offers a 150kW/400Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with 12V mild-hybrid tech mated with a seven-speed S tiptronic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Powering the 45 TFSI models is a 183kW/370Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine also with a 12V mild-hybrid system mated with the same seven-speed S tiptronic transmission.
At the top end, the 50 TDI draws power from the 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 engine with 48V mild-hybrid system to deliver 210kW and 620Nm. It’s mated with an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and all-wheel drive. It is also fitted with a self-locking centre differential.
The updated Audi Q5 range will go on sale in Australia in early 2021 priced from $68,900 plus on-road costs.
