The 2021 BMW M5 CS has been revealed ahead of an Australian arrival in the middle of the year.
BMW Australia has confirmed 20 examples will be available locally priced from $305,900 drive-away.
Powering the M5 CS is a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine producing 467kW of power and 750Nm of torque, a bump of 7kW when compared to the M5 Competition. An eight-speed torque converter automatic transmission sends drive to all four wheels.
Thanks to greater use of carbon-fibre, the M5 CS is 70kg lighter and can run from 0-100km/h in just 3.0 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than the M5 Competition. Top speed electronically-limited to 305km/h.
The roof, extended front chin spoiler, rear diffuser, mirror caps, engine cover, new rear Gurney flap and dual-vented bonnet are all made from carbon-fibre reinforced plastic.
Further differentiating the M5 CS is a Gold Bronze finish on the kidney grille surround, the 20-inch M forged wheels, the “M5 CS” badges on the grille, the M gills on the front wings and the boot lid.
On the inside, only four occupants can enjoy the drive with the M5 Competition’s seats replaced with lighter M Carbon seats trimmed in Merino leather. The front seats also get illuminated M5 logos and an outline of the Nürburgring Nordschleife on the headrests.
Buyers also get an Alcantara steering wheel and headliner, red contrast stitching and a centre console bin with a fixed cover.
Standard kit also includes a stainless-steel sports exhaust system with four tailpipes and M carbon ceramic brakes with red calipers.
Available alongside the Brands Hatch Grey metallic paint shade is the exclusive BMW Individual matt paint finishes Frozen Brands Hatch Grey metallic and Frozen Deep Green metallic.
The 2021 BMW M5 CS is available to order now priced from $305,900 drive-away ($274,900 plus on-road costs).
