The new-generation 2021 Genesis G80 sedan has been revealed ahead of an Australian launch in the second half of this year.

Genesis says the all-new G80 is the core of its model line-up and offers a unique interpretation of the midsize luxury sedan.

Design-wise, the new G80 borrows heavily from the new GV80 with the crest grille, and the two lines of the Quadlamps circumventing all sides of the vehicle.

The company points out the styling allows variations in design interpretations by enabling a carefully-considered balance between the two opposing characteristics, Athleticism and Elegance.

There’s also a coupe-like roofline, a long sweeping Parabolic Line from front to rear, power lines of the front and rear fenders, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the dashboard features a 14.5-inch infotainment screen and a slim air conditioning vent that stretches the width of the cabin.

Genesis is yet to announce powertrain details, however, it’s likely the G80 will be offered with four and six-cylinder petrol and diesel powerplants, along with the new eight-speed automatic transmission found in the GV80.

The all-new G80 will debut in the Korean market later this month with an Australian launch planned for the second half of 2020.
