Australian specs and pricing have been confirmed for the updated 2021 Hyundai Kona range which is already on sale.

At launch, Hyundai will offer six variants: Kona (replacing the existing Go), Active, Elite, Highlander, N Line and N Line Premium.

Pricing starts at $26,600 plus on-road costs for the base Kona and runs to $42,400 plus on-roads for the N Line Premium.

Power in the base Kona, Active, Elite and Highlander comes from a new 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine producing 110kW of power and 180Nm of torque. It’s matched to a CVT automatic and front-wheel drive.

N Line and N Line Premium models use a redesigned 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 146kW of power and 265Nm of torque. Drive is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

For 2021, the Kona range gets a fresh grille, new front and rear bumpers, updated tail-lights and redesigned alloy wheels.

The interior of the entry models now features a larger 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, while higher grades will use the 10.25-inch screen already seen in the Kia Seltos.

The new Kona N Line gets body-coloured trim in place of the plastic body cladding, along with a unique front bumper and wheels.

On the inside, the N Line features red contrast stitching, metal pedals, a bespoke instrument cluster and N logos on the gear shift and seats.
