Initial details of the updated 2021 Jaguar XE range have been announced ahead of a local arrival early next year.
Jaguar will offer three XE variants starting with the R-Dynamic Black which will launch at $69,990 drive-away.
Pricing for the R-Dynamic SE and HSE will be confirmed later this year.
All variants are powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 221kW and 400Nm, it’s matched to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic transmission that sends the drive to a rear-biased all-wheel drive system.
Since its Australian launch in 2015, the XE has only been exclusively rear-wheel drive. Moving the XE to all-wheel drive only is the same formula Jaguar has applied to the larger XF sedan.
The updated XE also gets the brand’s latest Pivi Pro dual-sim infotainment system accessed through a 10-inch central touchscreen and a 5.5-inch lower touchscreen.
Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included as standard with two phones able to be connected at once: one for phone calls, and another for media.
Software updates are available over-the-air via an embedded data connection. Owners will be able to update maps and add vehicle features without having to visit a dealer.
Additionally, Jaguar claims the cabin materials are now of a higher quality across all of the major touch points.
Further equipment highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a new cabin air ionisation system with PM2.5 filtration, a ClearSight rear-view mirror, and a 360-degree camera system.
Based on the XE R-Dynamic SE P300, the R-Dynamic Black features a black exterior pack, standard metallic paint, red brake callipers, 19-inch gloss black alloy wheels, gloss black interior trim, bright metal pedals and a Meridian sound system.
The XE R-Dynamic Black is available in Santorini Black, Yulong White, Firenze Red, Blue Fire Blue and Eiger Grey.
