Specs and pricing have been announced for the 2021 Mazda CX-5 range headlined by a new GT SP variant.
The GT SP is differentiated by piano black side mirror covers, black metallic 19-inch alloy wheels, black interior trim highlights and seats finished in Maztex and Grand Luxe Synthetic Suede upholstery with contrasting red stitching.
Buyers of GT, GT SP and Akera models will now get the latest 10.25-inch Mazda Connect infotainment system. According to Mazda, the system is faster-loading and provides higher-quality graphics and audio quality.
Maxx, Maxx Sport and Touring variants use an 8.0-inch MZD touchscreen display. Every model features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
The base Maxx finally gets 17-inch alloy wheels in place of the steel wheels on the outgoing model.
The four engine options have been carried over beginning with the 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol unit developing 115kW and 200Nm.
All-wheel drive models start with a 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol producing 140kW and 252Nm.
GT, GT SP and Akera models can be powered by a 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit that’s good for 170kW and 420Nm.
Buyers of the Maxx Sport, Touring, GT and Akera can opt for the 2.2-litre twin-turbo four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 140kW and 450Nm.
The entry-level Maxx comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission with a six-speed automatic available to be optioned. All other variants are equipped with a six-speed auto.
