After a long wait, specs and pricing have been announced for the 2021 Ram 1500 DT pick-up range.
At launch, Ram will offer the 1500 DT in Laramie and the Limited trim levels priced from $114,950 plus on-road costs.
The DT series is the new generation of the popular pick-up and will be sold alongside the existing DS range.
DT models are powered by a 5.7-litre Hemi petrol V8 engine augmented by 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. In total, the system produces 291kW and 556Nm.
The mild-hybrid set-up offers a brief boost of torque under load along with managing the automatic stop/start system and brake energy regeneration.
According to Ram, the 1500 DT has a drag coefficient of 0.357 which has been achieved through aerodynamic improvements including active grille shutters and active air dams.
Limited models also get the brand’s new four-corner air suspension as standard.

Dimensionally, the new Ram 1500 measures 5916mm long, 2474mm wide (including the mirrors) and 1971mm tall on a 3672mm wheelbase.
The braked towing capacity is 4500kg which gives the Ram a 1000kg advantage over the HiLux and Ranger.
Locals can also expect the hardcore 1500 TRX to reach dealers later this year along with updated versions of the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models.
