Toyota Australia has announced minor changes to the popular RAV4 SUV range.
The entry-level GX variant now features smart start ignition, a premium steering wheel, four extra USB ports (5 in total), and front and rear carpet mats.
Higher-spec Cruiser variants gain auto-folding power door mirrors.
The base powertrain consists of a 127kW/203Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox or CVT automatic in the GX. All other variants get the CVT as standard. On the combined cycle, fuel consumption for the manual is listed at 6.8L/100km, while the CVT is rated at 6.5L/100km.
All hybrid models use a 2.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor-generator matched to a CVT automatic transmission. It develops outputs of 160kW for 2WD variants and 163kW for the AWD versions.
The combined fuel consumption figures for the hybrids look brilliant at 4.7L/100km for 2WD models while AWD versions use 4.8L/100km.
Range-topping Edge variants are exclusively available with a 2.5-litre 152kW/243Nm petrol engine that sends drive to a mechanical AWD system through a traditional torque converter automatic. On the combined cycle fuel consumption is rated at 7.3L/100km.
