Specs and pricing have been announced for the expanded 2022 Porsche Taycan range ahead of a local arrival early next year.

 

The all-electric Taycan sedan line-up has been bolstered by the addition of a rear-wheel drive entry variant simply named Taycan priced from $156,300 plus on-road costs.

 

As standard, the rear-wheel drive Taycan is powered by a single motor on the rear axle making 300kW of power and 345Nm of torque. It’s matched to a 79.2kWh battery pack which offers 369km of range when fully charged.

 

Buyers can option the 93.4kWh Performance Battery Plus which produces 350kW and 357Nm. It also increases the range to 434km.

 

Regardless of battery size, the base Taycan can dash from 0 to 100km/h in 5.4 seconds.

The higher-riding Taycan Cross Turismo wagon also gets a new entry model in the form of the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo which is priced from $176,600 plus on-road costs.

 

Taycan 4 Cross Turismo models are fitted with the 93.4kWh Performance Battery Plus as standard. It’s paired with a duel-motor, all-wheel drive set-up that produces 350kW and 500Nm. The claimed range is 437km, while the 0-100km/h sprint takes 5.1 seconds.

Locally, equipment highlights on the Taycan and Taycan 4 Cross Turismo include comfort access, lane change assist, front and rear park assist with surround view, adapive cruise control with traffic jam assist, a head-up display, grey top tinting on the windscreen, tyre sealant with electric air compressor, traffic jam assist and power steering plus.

 

Taycan 4S, Turbo and Turbo S models also gain a head-up display, grey top tinting on the windscreen, tyre sealant with electric air compressor, traffic jam assist and power steering plus as standard.

 

In addition, the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S models will also receive the 22kW onboard AC-Charger as standard (optional on other Taycan models).

 

The updated 2022 Porsche Taycan range is available to order now with local deliveries set to commence early next year.
