Specs and pricing have been announced for the all-new heavy-duty 2022 Ram 2500 pick-up truck.
Priced from $157,950 plus on-road costs, the 2500 joins the DT-series Ram 1500 in local showrooms.
Adding the clever RamBox option lifts the price to $162,900 plus on-roads.
The range will expand further with the 3500 set to arrive in showrooms later this year.
Power in the 2500 comes from a 6.7-litre inline-six turbo-diesel producing 276kW and 1152Nm. It’s matched with a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
When fitted with air brakes and the correct tow hitch, the 2500 has a braked towing capacity of up to 8.0 tonnes.
Ram says there are new front and rear axles, new engine mounts, new frames with 98.5 per cent high-strength steel, an aluminium bonnet, and a new braking system.
Dimensionally, the new Ram 2500 measures 6066mm long, 2037mm tall and 2630mm wide (including the mirrors), with a 3785mm wheelbase.
