Aston Martin has revealed the Vanquish Vision Concept, which previews the design language fans can expect of the brand’s first series production mid-engined supercar.
The production version of the Vanquish Vision Concept will be the fourth model in Aston Martin’s mid-engined series following the Valkyrie, Valkyrie AMR Pro and AM-RB 003.
Details are minimal at this stage, however, Aston Martin has confirmed the production model will be powered by a new turbocharged V6 hybrid powertrain. According to the press release, detailed technical information will be revealed as the car’s development programme advances.
Aston Martin’s newfound confidence will see it compete directly in a segment traditionally defined by Italian supercar makers.
Andy Palmer, Aston Martin Lagonda President and Group CEO, said: “Our first series production rear mid-engined supercar will be a transformational moment for the brand, for it is the car that will propel Aston Martin into a sector of the market traditionally seen as the heartland of luxury sports cars.”
The production version of the Vanquish Vision Concept will be built in the company’s Gaydon facility from 2022.
