Bentley has announced it will be bringing a little bit of 007 to its SUV by introducing capacitive fingerprint sensor technology with a secure stowage unit to the Bentayga.

Mulliner, Bentley’s personal commissioning division, developed the fingerprint sensor technology which has been applied to a high-pressure die-cast aluminium secure stowage unit in the Bentaya’s cabin.

Bentley claims the discreet security locker is an ideal place to store valuables when visiting the beach, ski slope or when using valet parking services.

Two USB ports and an auxiliary socket are also located in the locker for connecting and charging mobile devices.

Uday Senapati, Mulliner’s Head of Technical Operations, said: “The Mulliner Biometric Secure Stowage unit is hidden from view. We are incorporating the familiar capacitive fingerprint sensor technology from smartphones that can store multiple fingerprints, allowing the user to control who accesses their valuables.”

Car storage doesn’t get much cooler than this.
