BMW has revealed the M850i xDrive First Edition, the temporary flagship of the 8 Series range will be capped at 400 worldwide.
The M850i xDrive First Edition will boast an exclusive newly-developed Frozen Barcelona Blue metallic paint finish which complements the upgraded BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, which applies a black finish to the side window surrounds, kidney grille frame and slats, the air breather applications and tailpipe trims.
Adding to the aesthetic are 20-inch M light alloy wheels with a Y-spoke design in a complimentary Jet Black finish. An M Carbon roof and an M Carbon exterior package will be available as options.
Internally the First Edition features Merino leather trim in an Ivory White and Night Blue combination, M leather-covered Night Blue steering wheel, as well as an Alcantara roof liner finished in the Night Blue.
Black Piano BMW Individual interior trim strips reflect the exterior of the car and are located in the center of the cockpit with the special lettering. There is also a Bowers & Wilkins audio system and the Crafted Clarity glass applications on the start/stop button, the iDrive Controller, the volume control and the illuminated gearshift lever.
Powering the M850i First Edition is the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine found in the standard car, it develops 390kW of power and 750Nm of torque. An eight-speed automatic sends power to all four wheels. BMW claim a 3.7-second sprint from 0-100km/h.
Only eight examples from the 400 are earmarked for Australia, though no official pricing has been confirmed as yet, however, the regular M850i xDrive coupe is priced from $272,900 plus on-roads. Stay tuned!
