After last week’s teaser, Great Wall has revealed the first images of its Adventure ute ahead of a public debut at the Shanghai motor show later this month.

The Adventure ute is tasked with broadening Great Wall’s appeal and gives the Chinese brand a rival to the Toyota HiLux and Ford Ranger.

In terms of styling, the ute adopts Great Wall’s new “tough truck” design language.

Exterior highlights include a single bar grille, LED headlights and taillights, carbon black wheel arches and an extended sports bar.

For those wanting to head off-road, the Adventure also features triple diff locks, a seven-setting All Terrain Control System, 900mm fording depth and a built-in front winch to offer “segment leading 4WD capabilities.”

Powertrain details are yet to be confirmed, however, the ute will pack a turbo-diesel engine mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The new ute will ride on a completely new platform which will be shared with the Haval H9.

The adventure model will joined at the Shanghai show by an urban spec ute and a fully-electric model with a claimed 500km range.

Great Wall has already confirmed the Adventure ute will be available in Australia next year.
