HSV has revealed the Colorado SportsCat R limited edition which adds a series of styling upgrades to increase the ute’s desirability in an increasingly competitive market.
Exclusively finished in Mineral Black paint, the SportsCat R is aiming to bring the styling for the range-topping SportCat+ to the standard ute by adding a gloss black grille and lower fascia and gloss black 18-inch six-spoke forged alloy wheels, which wear Cooper Zeon LTZ Pro Sports all-terrain tyres.
For some contrast, red highlights extend to the bonnet bulge, lower grille, doors, sail plane and tonneau with a red HSV sticker stationed on either side of the tub.
The interior of the SportsCat R mirrors that of the regular model with the highlight being the SV sports seats wrapped in Jasmine leather and Windsor suede.
Power comes from the familiar 2.8-litre 147kW/500Nm four-cylinder Duramax turbo-diesel engine found across the Colorado range.
Interestingly, the six-speed automatic is included as standard, while the premium AP Racing brake package can be optioned for $1995. This option was previously only available on the SportsCat+.
The SportsCat R is priced from $65,990 plus on-road costs which represents a bump of $3000 over the standard SportsCat.
Production is limited to just 100 units – 98 for Australia and 2 for New Zealand.
