Hyundai has confirmed local specifications and pricing for the Kona Iron Man Edition, the Marvel superhero-inspired SUV will set fans back $39,990 plus on-road costs.
Capped at 400 units nationally, the Iron Man Edition builds on the Kona Highlander’s specification by adding matte grey exterior paint with contrast roof, 18-inch 'Iron Grip' dual tone alloy wheels, a V-shaped hood bevel with Marvel logo, ‘Iron Man eye inspired’ LED DRLs and a series of Iron Man emblems.
Inside buyers get Iron Man mask embossing and 'Stark' logo on the seat faces, Tony Stark's signature on the dashboard, Iron Man-themed menus for the infotainment system, a character-themed welcome animation in the instrument cluster and an “Arc reactor” emblem on the gear shifter.
Power comes from a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine developing 130kW and 265Nm which is sent to all four corners through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Equipment highlights from the Highlander include keyless entry and start, leather trim, electronically-adjustable driver’s seat, climate control air conditioning, along with an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
