LDV has added a turbo-diesel engine option to its seven-seat D90 SUV range.
The diesel engine in question is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged unit developing 160kW of power and 480Nm of torque.
For context, the outputs better the Isuzu MU-X (130kW/430Nm), Toyota Fortuner (130kW/450Nm), SsangYong Rexton (133kW/420Nm) and the updated Mitsubishi Pajero Sport (133kW/430Nm).
Power is sent to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission and Borg Warner transfer case.
On the combined cycle, fuel consumption is listed at 9.1L/100km, while the towing capacity is rated at 3100kg.
The diesel engine is only available in the range-topping Executive trim priced from $47,990 drive-away which lines it up against entry variants from mainstream rivals.
Standard kit includes 19-inch alloys, keyless entry and start, a powered tailgate, leather trim for the first two rows, eight-way power adjustment for the driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, rake and reach adjustment for the steering column, puddle lights, a sunroof, and a 12.0-inch infotainment touchscreen and a six-speaker audio system.
Autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, tyre pressure monitoring, a rear-view camera, parking sensors and rain-sensing wipers are also standard.
