Mini will be celebrating their diamond jubilee with a 60 Year Edition model which will come to Australia late this year in three- and five-door configurations.

The British marque will dip into its special edition tub to pay homage to its history through a raft of unique exterior and interior finishes.

British Racing Green is the standard exterior paint colour, however, Midnight Black, Moonwalk Grey, Melting Silver and Lapis Blue are also available. All colours will come with a black or white roof and mirror caps.

The special edition will feature specific anniversary design bonnet stripes and exclusive 17-inch light alloy wheels.

The 60 Years logo will appear on the side scuttles of the turn indicators, the door sill finishers at the driver and front passenger doors as well as on the left-hand bonnet stripe. It will also appear inside the cabin on the model-specific interior trim finishers, front headrests and steering wheel as well as in the LED logo projected when the driver door is opened.

A special touch on the inside is Dark Maroon leather seats with an embroidered logo in the headrests. Automatic climate control and ambient lighting are also standard.

Another standard inclusion is the 60 Years Chili package which adds LED headlights, LED fog lamps, white turn indicators and LED rear lights in the Union Jack design.

Two petrol and two diesel engines are designated for the 60 Years Edition with outputs ranging from 100kW to 141kW though local-specific engines and outputs are yet to be confirmed.

Mini’s local arm told Car Conversation, “the Mini 60 Years is a key part of our 2019 product strategy, so expect to see it towards the end of 2019 in Australia, with allocations, pricing and final timing to be confirmed.” Stay tuned!
