The Shanghai motor show in April will host the unveiling of Great Wall’s next generation ute which is a confirmed starter in Australia and New Zealand.
As part of Great Wall Motor’s global expansion strategy, the new ute will go on sale alongside the Haval SUV range.
Developed on a completely new platform which will be shared with the Haval H9, the next generation ute claims to offer greater comfort and increased refinement with competent four-wheel-drive and load carrying capabilities.
Great Wall has confirmed four variants will be available – a dual cab with short and long wheelbase options, a single cab and an off-road adventure model – however, local specifications and launch dates have not been confirmed yet.
What has been confirmed is the combination of a turbo-diesel engine mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Great Wall Motor will have the new ute displayed alongside other strategic models, including electric and hybrid vehicles, which are destined for global deployment. Stay tuned!
