Porsche has confirmed the 911 Speedster concept will enter production as part of the 70 years of Porsche celebrations.
Originally revealed in June, a total of 1948 Speedsters are set to be built drawing inspiration from the Porsche 356 ‘Number 1’ which received its operating license in 1948.
Porsche presented a second Speedster Concept in Paris which features Guards Red paintwork in reference to the 1988 Speedster from the G-Model generation. Also featured were new cross-spoke 21-inch wheels and a sporty black leather interior.
Going into production will be the ‘Heritage’ version 911 Speedster, which is based on the 991 range, with new Heritage Design Packages to be offered exclusively for personalisation of the car.
To match the concept, the production version will feature details such as red tinted daytime running lights as well as two 'Talbot'-shaped exterior mirrors and the fuel tank cap in black-chrome and platinum.
Power will come from the 4.0-litre flat-six currently found in the 911 GT3, it develops 370kW of power and 460Nm of torque. A seven-speed PDK will send drive to the rear wheels.
