A new 1.3-litre TCe 150 engine has launched in the Renault Captur Intens S-Edition SUV offering more power and quicker acceleration.
The new engine develops 110kW of power (22kW increase) and 250Nm of torque, the latter available from 1600rpm (improved from 190Nm at 2000rpm). There is also a 7 per cent improvement in fuel economy with 5.4L/100km now listed on the combined cycle.
Renault claims there are more than just torque and power improvements offered by the new 1.3 TCe engine though. An improved and lighter delta cylinder head and bore spray coating, as well as a new system for the variable valve timing with rocker arm and a high-pressure direct injection system with 6-hole vertical injection, are just some of the innovations aimed at delivering a better performance.
The new engine will be available in 162 units of the Captur S-Edition limited edition which also brings new design elements.
Sitting at the top of the range, the Captur S-Edition looks the part with exclusive two-tone metallic finishes available. Iron Blue body colour with Diamond Black roof is specific to the S-Edition with Pearl White with Black Roof, Mercury Grey with Black roof and Oyster Grey with Black roof also available.
Enhancing the aesthetic further are 17-inch ‘Filante’ diamond-cut alloy wheels and smart S-Edition badging as well as Gun Metal Grey door protection inserts and skid plates at the front and rear.
Internally the Captur S-Edition features Alcantara/leather upholstery contrasted with blue top stitching on the armrest, steering wheel, gear lever bellows and parking brake.
The limited edition also features a comprehensive technology package with R-LINK 2, front, side and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, Easy Park Assist, BOSE premium sound system and blind spot monitoring.
The 162 units of the limited edition Renault Captur S-Edition have already started to arrive on Australian shores and are priced starting from $32,990 drive away.
