Volkswagen has announced a limited-run of Golf R Final Edition vehicles painted in custom colours will be offered locally to commemorate the end of the Mark 7.5 Golf range.
Locally, Volkswagen has secured 450 units of the Golf R Final Edition with 150 units finished in three previously unavailable colours: Victory Blue, Viper Green metallic and Violet Touch Pearlescent which add $300 to the price.
Each car will be removed from the assembly line to be specially hand-painted before returning to the line for completion.
The remaining allocation will be available in Pure White, Lapiz Blue Metallic and Deep Black Pearl Effect at no extra cost.
All Golf R Final Editions are appointed with 19-inch Black Pretoria alloy wheels, gloss black door mirrors, 'Carbon' Nappa leather upholstery and a Dynaudio premium audio system.
They will also feature dark-tinted privacy glass and special R Final Edition badging.
Wider equipment highlights include LED headlights, an electronically-adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, heated front seats, and a 9.2-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation and gesture control.
Power continues to come from the 213kW/380Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated with a seven-speed DSG and all-wheel drive.
The Volkswagen Golf R Final Edition is priced from $57,990 plus on-road costs, while the regular Golf R hatchback is on sale from $55,490 plus on-roads.
