Specs and pricing have been confirmed for the 2020 BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe ahead of a local arrival in the second quarter of this year.
The M8 Competition Gran Coupe is priced from $349,900 plus on-road costs making it $3000 less than the M8 Competition Coupe.
Like the M8 Coupe, the Gran Coupe will be powered by a 4.4-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine tuned to produce 460kW and 750Nm. An eight-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear-biased, xDrive all-wheel drive system.
BMW says the four-door variant matches the Coupe’s 0-100km/h acceleration time of 3.2 seconds.
Standard kit includes 20-inch alloy wheels, a sports exhaust, an active M differential, electronically controlled dampers and electromechanical M Servotronic steering, along with the new M-specific integrated braking system which enables two brake pedal settings to suit specific driving styles and situations.
For those looking for ‘practicality’, the Gran Coupe’s wheelbase is 200mm longer than that of the two-door version which according to BMW allows for “exceptional levels of space in the rear compartment.”
On the inside, buyers get M Sport front seats with integrated illuminated M8 badging, bi-colour leather trim, and M-specific readouts for the digital instrument cluster, infotainment screen and head-up display.
