Specs and pricing have been announced for the updated 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV range.
For 2021, the entry-level ES and flagship Exceed variants are joined by a new mid-spec GSR model.
Every model is powered by a 94kW/199Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine combined with a 13.8kWh battery pack, a 60kW/137Nm front-mounted electric motor and a 70kW/195Nm rear electric motor. The system produces a total of 157kW and 332Nm.
With the battery fully-charged, Mitsubishi quotes an electric driving range of up to 54km with charging times ranging from 7 hours to 25 minutes depending on the charger type.
The ES ($47,990 plus on-roads) gets autonomous emergency braking, snow and sport driving modes, black cloth seat trim, heated front seats with power lumbar for the driver, an 8.0-inch infotainment system with DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an electrochromatic rear-view mirror and two USB ports in the second row.
Moving to the new GSR ($52,490 plus on-roads) variant adds a Bilstein Premium Suspension package consisting of inverted monotube front struts and rear shock absorbers with matched increased front and rear spring rates, and ball-bearing front strut upper insulator assemblies.
The GSR also features black painted front and rear bumper skid plates, door mirrors, roof rails and roof, black chrome-plated radiator grille, front bumper air ducts and tailgate garnish, 18-inch black/machined two-tone alloy wheel, LED headlamps with auto levelling and front fog lamps.
On the inside, the GSR includes black accents on the shift knob, roof lining and A-pillar trim, silver stitching on the armrest, door trim, and steering wheel, an 8-speaker audio system, seats with microsuede facings and synthetic leather bolsters, a 4-way power-adjustable driver’s seat and a powered tailgate.
The range-topping Exceed ($56,490 plus on-roads) loses the Bilstein suspension, but gains a colour-matched roof and rear spoiler, chrome exterior highlights, headlight washer jets, speed limit information display, leather seats, and an electric sunroof.
