Updates for the 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan range have been announced ahead of a local arrival in March.
Sharing equipment with the Mk 8 Golf, the updated Tiguan range will consist of three grades: Life, Elegance and R-Line.
Headlining the changes is a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro, the full suite of IQ.Drive active safety technologies, touch climate controls on the centre console, and a redesigned steering wheel with haptic touch controls. Elegance and R-Line models also get matrix LED headlights.

The entry-level Life variants will be available with either a 1.4-litre 110kW/250Nm turbo-petrol engine with front-wheel drive and six-speed DSG transmission, or a 132kW/320Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol. The latter is matched to a six-speed DSG and all-wheel drive.
Elegance and R-Line variants both have the choice of a 162kW/350Nm petrol variant or the 147kW/400Nm diesel option, both mated to a seven-speed DSG and all-wheel drive.
Initially, the new 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan 110TSI variants will be available with the 162TSI and 147TDI arriving from May followed by the 132TSI in June.
