The new 2020 Audi A1 citycarver has been revealed in Europe ahead of a market launch later this year.
 
Based on the A1 Sportback, the A1 citycarver measures in at 4040mm long, and offers an additional 40mm of ground clearance and a 35mm higher ride height.
 
Design highlights include 16-inch alloy wheels, a large octagonal Singleframe grille with a sculpted matte black honeycomb insert, stainless steel underbody protection as well as redesigned side sills in a contrasting colour and redesigned rear bumper.
 
The A1 citycarver can be optioned with the Dynamic package which includes the Audi drive select dynamic handling system, red brake calipers, a sound actuator and adjustable dampers.
 
The cabin features a driver-oriented layout with an angled centre stack, a digital instrument cluster and the latest MMI navigation plus infotainment system displayed on a 10.1-inch touchscreen.
 
For some extra style, the vents, centre tunnel console and doors also feature accent surfaces in mint, copper, orange or silver-grey with structured grey available for the S line.
 
In terms of safety,  the citycarver gets adaptive cruise control, park assist, lane departure warning and autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
 
Powertrains have not been revealed, however, given the similarity to the A1 Sportback, it’s likely to feature a range of turbocharged engines offering between 70kW and 147kW.
 
The A1 citycarver will launch in Europe later this year, Audi’s local arm is yet to confirm whether or not the car will be offered in Oz.
